Lego Marvel's Avengers out this week

Oout this week is the latest Lego video game, Lego Marvel's Avengers, which draws from the Marvel cinematic universe, with levels based on the two Avengers movies, as well as Iron Man 3, Thor: Dark of the World, and the first two Captain America films.

To mark the release, there is of course a launch trailer, which creatively uses sound effects from the game to create something of a soundtrack:



For a bit more of an idea of game-play, this previous trailer is perhaps a little more useful, with a particular focus on the open world aspects of the game - New York looks rather impressive!



Also recently announced, and available for free on Playstation 3 and 4 version of the game as downloadable content, is a character pack from the forthcoming Captain America: Civil War. Available at launch, there will be nine characters added to the game from this, Civil War versions of Captain America, Iron Man (in mark 46 armor), Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Crossbones, and Agent 13 (aka Sharon Carter).

Coming later, and again also free and exclusive to playstation, there will also be a level and character pack based on Ant-Man. That will include an extra level based on the film, and whole load more characters: Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Ant-Thony the ant, Cassie Lang, Darren Cross, Scott Lang, Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne, Luis, The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), and Yellowjacket!
